I mean, seriously. They used to charge $100 shipping, but then they got real and started using UPS for $50. Apparently, the guy that delivered this to my parents' house (they got it for me for Christmas) was amused, as they don't sell many to residences. But why not? Pay $100 and get some folding piece of plastic that will break the first time its abilities are overestimated, pay $150 and get something decent, but with limitations, or just pay the $250 and get the best that will always be there and never disappoint.Everything is well thought out on this monster. It has a long, self-spooling, ratcheting strap to hold the object to be moved in place, and the buckle is even covered to protect from scratching, all the metal that might come into contact with the object to be moved is covered in felt or rubber, and it has the treaded stair climbers. Oh, and the extra wheels. What can I say - they are cool and lock into place nicely... I was used to using my dad's aluminum appliance dolly which is much lighter. I don't need it to anything super heavy-duty just funiture & basic appliances. I am a smaller female and found the weight of this dolly disappointing. The weight of the dolly plus the weight of whatever I need to move made it difficult to use. I returned it to the store and ordered a lighter weight aluminim dolly online.Also the black guard on the vertical bars are plastic - not felt/fabric. The plastic will eventually get marked and could scratch items you are moving. |
